Perspective on Achievement…

I just heard the following line from Tony Robbins about excuses people make for not achieving their goals: “The distinction is NOT resources but resourcefulness…”

Ever have an employee, friend, drive-up-window-order-taker, etc…, tell you that they just didn’t have “what they needed” to be successful?

I just had this moment of clarity (and I’m not even a member of the TR Fan Club)…  Allowing “achievement” by subordinates to be contingent on what we as executives DO is a flawed expectation and needs to be “level-set” in a candid 1-on-1 dialogue.

By the way, apply this principle with temperance…  Resources do matter (quite a bit actually).
