Thanks for the article. I almost passed your blog up in Google but now I'm glad I decided to stop and got to go through it. I'm definitely a little better informed now. I'll be sharing your site with some other people I know. They'll for sure enjoy the heck out of what I just read too. LOL. --Jon

Sad. And reality is that customer acquisition is a huge cost. Probably more than $800. Customer retention on the other hand is usually far cheaper and easier. Is it any wonder they're in financial trouble? We need them to crash & burn so a dozen smaller, better startups can take their place and make better cars with better customer service.

People need to care more about their jobs but monolithic companies foster this I don't care attitude. Smaller companies are the future because people will care about their jobs and have the power/authority to make things happen. Big companies don't trust their reps to do more than read off of a screen. Small companies give reps power to make decisions with the understanding that those choices make long term impact on that employees chance of having a job.

With the average price of the vehicle increasing 4% per year, you are well over a million dollars.

For the record, GMC is GM, which also owns Chevy, Cadillac and Buick.

They are shedding the Pontiac, Saturn and Hummer brand.

Great job GM.
