Hoping Your Way To Better Results.

Every successful business idea starts with hope.

Getting results over the long term requires more than an intellectual creativity for coming up with new ideas. It demands emotional attachment.

You can cut employees. You can trim budgets and eliminate redundancies. You can pay down debt and increase shareholder value. Those are all proven initiatives to make an enterprise healthier.  But those strategies doesn’t fix the hopelessness that your companies feels.

They don’t give your company a reason to keep trying.

Perhaps not in public when the boss is listening, or in the boardroom when ideas are being debated — but  in the quiet moments when the hype is gone, that hopelessness shines through.

It cripples your momentum.  It handicaps your big plans for growth and recovery.

No matter what you goal is your plan needs to start with creating hope.

Because your people need a reason to become high performers. They need a reason to think beyond what is right now. They need a shock of inspiration to rise beyond the frustrations of the daily grind.

Hope begins the process of recovery.

It heals pain and inspires high performance.

If your plan for success doesn’t start with hope then you’re just creating ideas that will never end up actually working.  Because to be a winner, people need a reason to want to try harder.

And that starts with hope.

What you hope to be someday.

    Hey Dan,

First time on your blog (and I am glad to be reading this :D).

Yes, Hope can play a very important role in people’s lives. I especially can relate this back to my life (I think everyone can) because I did lose my hope with my first blog.

I was impatient, inconsistent, irregular, pessimistic (and all those bad things….)
But, few months ago, I decided to change the situation.

I realized that I don’t have to give up. I realized that I could achieve success with patience and consistent hard work. I had hope (more like rediscovered it). I hope to be a famous blogger, some day ;)

And I hope to do much more than that (My ambition is to create a world class company that works on inventing and reinventing products – better function and ecologically friendly).

Anyways, thanks for the awesome post,

    Jeevan Jacob John

Hi Dan, great article as always. Keeping hope alive for the people you lead is one of the most critical parts of buidling a great team and business, really making a difference. I believe truly great things are achieved when passion collides with process, and one of the most proken processes leaders have is running effective, inspiring, behavior changing meetings, I found a cool guide at http://www.howtorunasalesmeteings.com for anyone who wants to run better sales meetings.
    Cheers
