One is Enough.

It only takes one to start a trend.

It only starts one to get people thinking.

It only takes one to make a difference.

One thought. One moment. One person.

“Who shall set a limit to the influence of a human being?  There are men, who, by their sympathetic attractions, carry nations with them, and lead the activity of the human race.”     ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

It only takes one person.

That one could be you.

That one new idea could be yours.

The next big moment could be one that you call your own.

And that changes everything.

Because once you know it’s your time, that you can make a difference, everything you do becomes a little more urgent — that much more important.

It is not really a secret at all.

You are the one.

Choose to make it a big one.

People need to realise that with social medai that they are no longer alone and power to change tinngs. In a world where democratic governments are starting to shape policy and change laws based on what is trending, every voice carries weight. How will you use your voice?

That’s right, @facebook-1059875045:disqus .  The average person has tremendous opportunity to get their voice heard in dozens of new ways.

One thing I always find interesting is how “lonely” leaders can be — even with a waiting army behind them.

It takes courage to do big things.

Very few people have that one, really big, difference making idea that will blow everyone away when they first hear it.  It’s typically a journey of contemplating possibilities and making creative connections along the way that produce the BIG ideas.  It’s that continual search for information that gives the assist…hard work combined with some brain work.  For example,  In the early 1980′s, an IRS Research Officer (J. Szilagyi) had seen enough random audits to know some tax payers were incorrectly (making up) dependents for sake of the exemption.  In the 80′s, the tax form did not require SS#’s for dependents.  His idea was to require a SS# for everyone claimed as a dependent.  The year the change was enacted, 7 million dependents suddenly vanished from the tax rolls and it created 3 billion in additional tax revenues.  Oddly enough, his idea was met with resistance when first presented and ultimately took years to be put into action.  It falls right in line with your thoughts that it only takes one person to make a huge difference.

      Great point, Mitch, about persistence.

Being “the one” isn’t all about throwing together an idea and expecting people to fall in love with you overnight.  As you noted, sometimes (really, all the time) you have to believe enough in yourself to keep pushing your ideas forward.

Most people have great ideas.  They just don’t have enough resolve to push past the resistance…

    Yes, of course, Dan.

Nowadays, people just get caught up in the belief that they don’t have time (when they do have plenty). People also focus more on making money through conventional means than by trying out something new – Yes, it may not make you money in the short term, but in the long term, after a lot of experimentation and learning, it is guaranteed to give you good results – If you tried hard enough.

    Thanks for the post,

      That’s right, @jeevanjacobjohn:disqus .  It’s about long term results.
