When Hope Gets In The Way.

There are moments when the dawn is hidden by the dangers of the night. There are moments when our fears and doubts collide so forcefully that we are left breathless, wondering if life itself is only a fantasy of mistreatment and unrealized expectations.

Our dreams are dashed.  Our momentum stymied.

We swing our arms wildly in front of us hoping that our frantic efforts in the darkness might help us miss the most dangerous of obstructions.

And yet our wild movement does little to quell the growing panic that rises within us.

We are lost. We are hopeless.

And the true sadness of our predicament is not that we are evil. It is not that we are weak. It is not that we move without intention and motivation.

Rather, it is that we are human.

We are frail. We are broken.

And that humanity begs discovery from time to time. And at what seems to be always the worst of times.

We’re left with questions.

Left wondering what is important, what really matters.  What is real.

Then hope gets in the way.

And what you thought was tragedy is really just an opportunity to be amazing.  A chance to rise above expectation and fear and doubt and achieve the greatness you were destined to become.

Hope turns fears into motivation.  It turns panic into triumph.

Hope disrupts your worry.  It cripples your doubt.

And so, in the saddest of times, when the dark seems darkest take encouragement from this simple realization:  Hope is on the way.

That hope is inside you.

Or is it?

What are you hoping for?
