Inward Mobility.

In all of our minds there is a direct link between satisfaction and achieving business success. You might even call it happiness — being able to mentally navigate a complex corporate environment and achieve success.

Working your way up the corporate ladder.

In fact, we call people who are extraordinarily adept at this movement as being “upwardly mobile” — able to move up with ease.

And that is a real skill, because that mobility is tied to financial growth as well. Every step up the corporate ladder leads to an increase in your personal wealth.  Which leads to an increase in personal happiness, as we happen to see it.

But when money and recognition and mobility starts to wane, confusion and panic and fear take its place.  And you begin to realize that what you thought would bring happiness is largely insufficient to make you feel satisfied.

That awareness is the beginning of the journey towards lasting happiness and personal satisfaction.

Happiness takes “inward mobility”.

Not more money. Not a longer job title. Not more awards. Not a better bonus plan. Not more responsibility.

More awareness.

Instead of fighting those around you to rise above them, you look with yourself to rise above the pain and fear and chaos that limits your ability to be amazing.

And while it might appear at times that you are behind in the important goals of financial independence and long-term career planning, you might discover that you’re far ahead on what really matters in life — being comfortable in your own skin.

Not chasing a mirage. Not living a lie.

You are happy because you know what drives you.  You understand how frail you can be at times.  And in spite of your own weaknesses and shortcomings, you realize that you are more powerful than you could have ever imagined.

You are a force of nature.

That’s not something that any amount of money can ever buy you.  That awareness can’t be upwardly achieved.

It has to be found inside.

Are you looking for it?
