You Decide When The Pain Goes Away

Life is a bootcamp. It hurts. You do. And it’s not a feeling that you’re comfortable with.

Not now. Not ever.

Physically, emotionally, financially — you’re beaten and battered.  At the end of your limits.  At the breaking point.  You’re done.

All you have to say is “I quit”.

That’s all you have to do.

In fact, you don’t even need to say it.  You just need to do it.  (Or not…)

The option is yours.  You can end the pain at any time.  In the boot camp of life the drill instructor is you.  You get to say when “enough” is enough.

You don’t have to lie in the mud panting and exhausted as your body is pushed to the outer limits of survival. You don’t need to put yourself in the position where you’re torn mentally. Frustrated, confused, and doubting your abilities to make it this time.

You don’t have to do any of that.  You don’t have to endure the pain one more time.

Not for one more day.

You can make the pain go away by just giving up.

By dreaming small.  By blaming others for your failure.  By planning to get started tomorrow.  By pretending like you’re trying harder than you really are.  By bringing other’s down.

There is no pain then.  No fear.  No confusion.  No self-doubts.

There is nothing there for you.

No pleasure.  No reward.  No opportunity for immortality.

Just the deception of security.  The deceit of infallibility.

You are not the only one in pain.  Not the only one struggling to find meaning in an often cruel and unfair world.

You’ve forgotten the truth about how strong you really are.  Your pain is just a sign of the glory that is ahead.  Of the rewards waiting to be yours.

You can make the pain go away now.

Or you can use it to guide you on your journey home.

To the place you want to be.
