There Is Only An “i” In Team.

“There’s no ‘i’ in team” — you’ve heard that championed in every business book in the four decades.
It was probably mentioned in your last company retreat, group seminar, or motivational team moment.

And it might just be dead wrong.

No ‘i’ in team?

What about: imagination, ideation, intention, inspiration, initiation, interaction, intuition, invention, impassion, inhesion, inclusion, infection, iteration, information, instigation, instruction, integration, incubation, inhibition, innovation, and introspection?

What else is a team if not all of these?

That’s just about all a team is — bunch of i’s.

So pick your ‘i’ and be a better team member.

  1. Good thought Dan!
I also think there is another “I” in team – the individuals that make up the team.

Without the individual contributors, there is no team!

What makes a great team is that the individuals “integrate” and make something more than they could do on their own.
