Your Some Day Could Be Today.

Someday usually sounds a lot more exciting than what you have going on today. Someday you’re going to have a lot more money saved up in the bank.

Someday you’re gonna tell that guy how you really feel about his behavior.

Someday you’re going to go on a vacation and unplug from the craziness of your daily schedule. Someday you’re going to get lucky and not have to worry about money anymore. Someday you’re going to get back in shape, get your finances under control, and go tackle that big dream you’ve put on the sidelines.

Someday, but not today. That’s why some day never becomes today.

Because you never start working on the things that turn your dreams into reality. You never put in enough effort, never invest enough in your own success, never do enough to push past everyone else and get noticed — and so you live in a fantasy world where someday is everything that you ever wanted from today. You just never actually end up turning someday into today.

What if you started treating your dreams like you treat your belongings?

You wouldn’t let someone break open your front door and rob your valuable goods without doing everything in your power to get back what rightfully belongs to you. You wouldn’t let the people you love be intentionally molested, abused, and hurt by bad people with evil intentions. You would never stand to have your car stolen or your friends kidnapped.

You would do everything in your power to fight for the people and things that you love.

But when it comes to dreams and goals and ambition you find yourself a little less urgent. A little less focused. Instead of fighting to stay motivated and inspired, you just chalk it up as being “unlucky” or “everyone picking on you”. You let people beat you down and steal your dreams. You listen to small minded, critical idiots who have nothing better to do than make you feel like a fool.

You sit quietly by while your dreams are being ripped from your soul.

Instead of fighting for justice you make excuses about “it must not have been meant to be”. When what was meant to be was you fighting to keep your dreams alive. Fighting today and tomorrow and everyday. Fighting until someday becomes today. You won’t get lucky. Everything won’t automatically turn out right the first time you try it. Everyone won’t agree with you.

You won’t have many friends at times.

But you will have your someday. And that someday will be today.
