It’s Not The Perfect People Who Win.

So what if you’re never the smartest person in the room. That just makes you human. So what if you don’t have enough money to avoid getting it right the first time. That just makes you human.

So what if you haven’t stopped to apologize for how you treat the people around you. That just makes you human.

So what if you avoid controversy by running away from the people that scare you most. That just makes you human.

So what if you can’t admit that you’re a failure, a flop, a fraud sometimes. That just makes you human.

So what if you give up and pretend like everything is OK. That just makes you human.

So what if you risk too much and come away empty. That just makes you human.

And humans are who change the world.

We’re all flawed at times. We’re all fake at times. We’re all afraid at times. We all makes mistakes and hurt the people we love.

Sometimes, when it matters most.

But the power of choice and consequence and conquest is that life is what you make it.

Today. Tomorrow. And forever. Making mistakes in the past — not being the best “you” you can be — isn’t a reason to give up now.  It’s not a valid excuse to throw in the towel and walk away from the future you could have.

Being a flawed human is your greatest chance of being amazing.

It’s not the perfect people who win in the long run.

It’s not the people who have enough money, time, friends, or good ideas.

It’s the idiots and screw-ups and morons who refuse to stop getting better who end up winning.

The goals you set for yourself and the crazy effort you invest in being amazing is what actually ends up ensuring that you do something amazing.

Being flawed is what drives you to keep trying. To not play it safe. To keep pushing for greatness.

So what if you’re a screw-up. That just makes you human.

Go be amazing.
