Solving many of the frustrating challenges of being successful in life comes down to answering one inspired question: “If they can do it, why can’t you?” If they can be driven, work hard, and achieve success, then why can’t you?

If they can watch what they spend, save money, and invest — even on a meager paycheck —  then why can’t you?

If they can have a big goal and lose sleep fighting for it, then why can’t you?

If they can get back up after they’ve been knocked down a few times, then why can’t you?

If they can have a dream and obsess about the details, then why can’t you?

If they can do what needs to be done even when it gets tough, then why can’t you?

If they can make hard choices, do hard things, and solve hard problems, then why can’t you?

They aren’t any better than you.

No one else is any more deserving of success than you are right now.

They might have more money, more university degrees, more time, insight, brain power, or friends than you.

But what they don’t have is what you only have — the will to win. The drive to keep going. The desire to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

That’s something that’s all up to you.

No one can take that drive from you and no one can force it on you.

You can’t be made to want more for yourself. You can’t be forced into fighting harder, pushing longer, or desiring more for yourself. That all has to come from within.

If they can do it — whatever that is — why can’t you?

You can. And you should. And I hope you do.
