The Big Takeaway: Communication is speaking from a place of intention and learning to say “I’m sorry.”

My father taught me that sometimes the best way to find what’s going on is to talk to the people who are making it happen.

Sure, documents are great, but communicating with your team is the key to finding out what’s really going on.

And over the years, I have found, as a consultant, that the biggest problem in companies is communication. Or lack of.

And it’s the same for a lot of us. When we get stressed about money or business, we shut down. Instead of looking for someone to talk to and brainstorm with, we just close ourselves off to the world emotionally.
